  • Well animated though a little sad
I finally got a chance to watch this movie and found myself enjoying it.

The movie itself is broken down into 3 stories, all of them surrounding the two main characters (Takaki and Akari).

The first part dwells into their younger years, and the relationship that developed between them. In the second part, several years have passed and they are now in High School, leading separate lives. The ...

  • Touching love story!
5 Centimeters per Second is a heartwarming story of timeless love. Besides the good animation and music, the main attraction of this masterpiece is its excellent storyline and realistic characters.

The movie shows the happiness of finding love, the joy of being in love and being loved, the pain of separation, and the truth that there are things we can never get back and that we must move on. ...

  • Unbelievable animation, and nice story line.
To keep this simple, 5 Centimeters Per Second was indeed, a very nice anime-movie to watch.

The storyline: I really enjoyed the story, until the end. I can't say I enjoyed the final chapter at all, really. It feels incomplete to me; I feel as if Takaki should have gotten a better ending. Not just a smile and acceptance, since this was all about him. I'm happy (for the most part) for Akari, but ...

    Love, it's powerful and confusing
This was only an hour long so I gave it a shot. Some people were saying how sad it was and the amount of feels you get from it.

Yes, I did get them somewhere in the beginning area. But after that, nothing, the animation is well done and thought out. But overall, it didn't capture my interest like I thought it would have.

Beautiful story, Beautiful art work, Beautiful!
The story itself is wonderful and heart wrenching to the point you'll be crying the whole time. The story revolves around one boy, his relationships and the events that lead to adulthood. The story is told masterfully in three chapters that take you from the highest high ... right back down to Earth. It's certainly one movie that narrative lover will definitely enjoy!

    Absolutely Spectacular.
This is definitely one of my top 10 anime movies! I was brought to it after watching The Place Promised In Our Early Days directed by Makoto Shinkai.

I really loved the picture of this film as well as the valuable lessons that were played out in it- it was very realistic. The way relationships begin with beauty and wonder but becomes distant after a while and causing you to fight to hold on ...

This movie clearly shows the impact that first love has. You never really get over it...
i actually liked the ending for this movie.i think the train is a symbol for the distance between them. it parted them in their teenage and now that they've grown up. its so sad though. but in the end, they couldnt even see each other. the train blocked their view of each other.all in all the ending was ...

    An Exceptional Masterpiece
"The speed cherry blossom petals fall is five centimeters per second."

    -Akari Shinohara

5 Centimeters per Second is the heartbreaking story between the couple, Takaki and Akari. Told in the fashion of three separate acts, we explore the themes of letting go of the past and growing up. What makes the movie stand out is that it perfectly executes the interactions between the characters ...
