    Hauntingly Beautiful, and Beautifully Haunting
5 Centimeters per Second is an astonishingly beautiful movie. The art is breathtaking (hence it's such a shame that Crunchyroll doesn't have an HD option for it), the music is moving, the acting is perfect, the characters are amazingly deep despite the movie's short length, and the story... Oh man, the story something else. The best word I can find to describe the story of this movie is ...

  • My god this is beautiful
The animation of this is extremely exceptional. I would say it is one of my personal favorites for that. As for the story, it doesn't get left behind. While this isn't an over the top drama or romance, it still manages to get very strong emotional responses from the characters with out making anything seem out of place. Personally, I enjoyed growing with the character and feeling the low and high ...

top notch.. Would rate higher if I could
WOuld rate it higher if I could. This movie excels in the quality of the animation, as well as the plot it presents. The story is not the typical **everything's great/everyone's happy** and I for one liked that about it. Having said that, it leaves you wanting more, it's that good. I highly recommend it

Beautiful story, Beautiful art work, Beautiful!
The story itself is wonderful and heart wrenching to the point you'll be crying the whole time. The story revolves around one boy, his relationships and the events that lead to adulthood. The story is told masterfully in three chapters that take you from the highest high ... right back down to Earth. It's certainly one movie that narrative lover will definitely enjoy!

    Nothing to see here.
What we have here is a story everyone has gone through. Dude meets a chick. Dude falls in love. They are separated. And the what-ifs that occur because of that. I'm only writing this review so that I can remember two things
    A) I've already watched this
    B) It had nothing remember-able occur, hence why I forgot I watched it.

Five Minutes to Melt Your Heart, Five Seconds to Break It
From the first taps of the piano keys, and the painstakingly lovely animation that it accompanies, this story unfolds in a beautiful way - almost like a cherry blossom fluttering from tree to ground. Watch it subbed or dubbed, it makes no real difference. It is an experience to treasure, just as richly as the moments are cherished by those for whom this story takes place.

    One of those screaming/whispering-profanity-at-midnight-anime
I watched this right after finishing Inu X Boku, which left emotional residue going into this one. I loved the metaphors, and how it forced you to relive events in your life. This would still have been good with bad animation, but it had the some of prettiest animation I have seen. The world felt huge and sparsely populated, which is great when addressing the concept of love. Best watched all at ...

    Guaranteed to make you cry.
From ComixWave Films and master animator Makoto Shinkai comes one of the most touching animated films ever made. It isn't merely the breathtaking visuals and animation that make this film shine. 5 Centimeters Per Second is a story that many of us can relate to. We all have many regrets in our lives as well as the desire to go back and change our decisions. In particular, our love lives are what is ...
