Careful It'll make you bite your nails!
I watched this about a year ago and found it absolutely thrilling! I was always on the tip of my seat trying to console myself about what was happening. I found it hard to watch at some points because i was literally so scared of what was happening. If you wanta watch a good anime and like thrillers or really just a good anime this is definitely one and I recommend it!

    Gets a 5 out of 5 for me ...

    Amazing show- must watch
Although i don't understand the game of mahjong at all, this was still an amazing show that kept you involved throughout the entire episode and entire series. I finished the show in a matter of 2-3 days. Watch, you will not be dissapointed.

Amazing! A World I Never Knew!
Ok, so I saw this was added and I was looking for something to watch. It seemed pretty interesting plus I heard it was a classic so I had to check it out.

I was hooked after the first episode! There is just simply something about it that draws you in and won't let you go. Quite simply, it is a show about a punk kid who turns out to be a genius mahjong player. Genius to the point of ...

A Show where Manly Men decide their fates.... with tiles.
Akagi is a very strange show to me. Looking at it objectively its just a bunch of manly drawn men (I'm pretty sure that some of their chins could pierce steel) sitting around playing mahgan(sp?) and yes their alot of money riding on it but based on its parts there isn't anything that one would assume would make a killer show. There's not even any cute girls like in similar shows like Saki in fact ...

    Totaly worth a marathon
I didn't know anything about Mahjong, and still don't, but I enjoyed this show very much. Akagi's cool and calm personality is kind of thrilling. The other thing that I loved was his voice (voiced by Masato Hagiwara) his voice suits him so much.

If you like mind games then I recommend this show.

AKAGI WILL MAKE YOU HIGH FOR MORE!!!!
Even if you don't understand the rules or concept of the game, Akagi has that aura that makes you want to keep watching. The narrator adds that extra eccentric "spice" that makes this anime a MUST WATCH!!

Looking for a peaceful anime to fall asleep to? ; ) This is it.
Akagi has extremely peaceful qualities and really keeps my stress level down by showing me that just through talking you can solve your problems. I like that there is not a lot of violence and that the morals are uplifting really a must see for all kids.

    One of the Unknown Greats
It's such a shame that more people haven't seen this show. It really is deserving of a place among the likes of Bebop, Eva, Fate/ Zero and the like. The intense mental conflicts all through the show are just great. Now on my top 10 list!

Not well known but something you should definitely check out
You'd think you would have to understand the game they were playing in order to understand this anime, but this isn't the case. I to this day dont understand the rules to mahjong and i still found this fantastic. This was because it wasnt so much as a game of mahjong as it was phsycological warfare between the badass/mysterious Akagi Shigeru and his opponents. Overall, this was an amazing anime ...

    Just INSANE!! An unknown GREAT!!
I picked this anime just out of curiosity, and I was totally hooked from the first episode. Hell I became a member just to stop all the announcements from playing so I could see it without interruptions. It did not disappoint! Truly a MUST WATCH!!!!!
