Pop culture site Smosh recently dedicated their "Taturday" feature to anime-based tattoos. While definitely nice to look at, it was mostly Shonen Jump titles and a bit light on subjects like the Miyazaki movies. Filling in some of the gaps, Crunchyroll News has put together a remix of some of the internet's best anime-inspired ink.

Really like the first one alot! But there were quite a few in there that didn't impress me at all.
Ok, My favourites are the first Ghost in the shell pic, pretty much most of the Ghibli ones and surprisingly, the Bleach one looks awesome, really detailed!

wow the shonan tattoos are like naruto and bleach are AWSOME!! especially that cowboy bebop tattoo! xD but that babe with the sailor moon tattoos is SMOKING HOTT!! o.O

A few of them were amazing while the others made me think "I hope they don't regret it later on..." because really...that's just...wow.

I'm pretty against tattoos, so all I can say is that in my opinion this is just sad. For the amount of money that some of these people likely spent, they could have easily gotten original works from the creator and kept themselves from looking like hoodlums.

Tattoo's in general are an art of expression. Disliking them because you would never get one isn't fair. You're welcome to dislike them, but saying that these people look like "hoodlums" is a very closed minded statement. I've seen many tattoo's done tastefully, and I have tattoos as well that I believe were done so as well. For the majority tattoos represent someones history or a feeling of closeness to the image. Thankfully those of us who get and/or have tattoo's don't do it to please the masses like yourself. We do it to please ourselves.

Pet Peeve- Tattoo hacks who have no training in Japanese calligraphy or Anime style permanently
disfiguring other peoples bodies.
These are so ugly and the calligraphy so incredibly poor, I would hope the people who did this to themselves go to art school,visit a museum, study calligraphy and learn what real art is.

Damn, I'm jealous! If only I had the courage to withstand those needles! Love the Naurto one, the Sailor Moon ones rock, and the Totoro ones made me realize how much I miss my Totoro towel! I had bought that thing from the Akiba store for 1300 yen! I always had it in my ABU pocket, and I think I lost it riding my bike around base!

Throughout my life I've seen a lot of tattoos with color not even close to the actual. The Princess Mononoke one I think is spot on with color and capture. Miyazaki uses some of the most beautiful colors that are not just "out of bottle." If I were to get another I think I would search that tattoo artist out. :)
I don't have a fondness for tattoos, but some of them are quite artistic and well done. As long as they're happy with their results, good for them!

I myself have tattoos, BUT to be honest, even though I am more then just a anime/manga fan, I cant live without it, I would never put a tattoo based on anime/manga... Somehow it feels wrong, feels like I would do wrong by Anime and by Japan.... Cant explain why... just feels wrong.
