FEATURE: "Yokai Sculpture Competition" Winners Announced at Wonder Festival

Latest creations by the modern Japanese Yokai artists

Yokai are supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore and have been often used as motifs in many films and comics. Probably the most famous manga/anime series featuring Yokai is GeGeGe no Kitarou created by Shigeru Misuki, which has six TV anime series since 1968. Shodoshima Yokai Project had held a competition for Yokai-themed original sculptures between February and June this year. The organizer displayed the winners of the 1st competition at this summer's Wonder Festival which was held on July 28. Which is the scariest (or cutest) Yokai for you?
