Attendees of the Mondo Mystery Movie at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema were treated to something really special: a screening of Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira. The film was requested by artist Tyler Stout in celebration of his birthday, and his love for the film shows in the limited edition poster he created for the screening.
Being as busy as it is, it's tough to appreciate it at such a small scale, so feel free to click here for a more up close and personal gander at Stout's work. Some examples of Stout's previous cinematic tributes can be seen in this incredible poster for Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, or this one for Star Wars.
