ONE PIECE Film Uploader Arrested

Why is the suspect always "an unemployed man" anyway?

On April 26, Chiba Prefectural Police's anti-cyber crime unit and Chiba Chuo Police Station arrested a 41-year-old unemployed man from Nagasaki-city, Nagasaki on suspicion of using Share file-sharing software to upload the anime movie ONE PIECE: STRONG WORLD, which is owned by TOEI, on the Internet without the copyright holder's permission, the Association of Copyright for Computer Software (ACCS) reported.

According to the report, the man used the file-sharing software Cabos to download the film and Share to upload it on January 12. The police found that the man recorded anime and films in 50 folders of his PC. The man has admitted his guilt.

This is the second infringement of copyright case regarding anime property reported by ACCS this year in Japan. The first case was uploading the 50th episode of Turn A Gundam television anime series by a 25-year-old unemployed man who was arrested on February 24.
