More Golgo 13 TV Heading to North America
Sentai Confirms Plans at Con
When asked at Kawaii Kon if Sentai Filmworks planned to release more of the 2008 Golgo 13 TV series in North America, company representative David Williams explained that while materials have been delayed by the March earth quake, more Golgo 13 is coming from Sentai. The first half of the TV series was released in July and September 2010 through Section23 and offered online through The Anime Nework.
The 2008 anime adapts stories from Takao Saito's 40+ years, 160+ volumes chronicle of peerless assassin Duke Togo, aka Golgo 13. The manga had previously been adapted into anime movie The Professional and OVA Queen Bee, both directed by the recently departed Osamu Dezaki. In March, Discotek Media plan to release The Professional in remastered 16:9 with new extras.
