Chrono Trigger Headed to Nintendo's Virtual Console

Square's classic RPG available on May 16

Originally released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Chrono Trigger has since become one of the most celebrated role-playing games of all time. Not nearly as milked for rerelease as Square Enix's other titles, the game's next destination is the Virtual Console store on Nintendo Wii.

The combined talents of Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii as script creator, Dragon Ball's Akira Toriyama as character designer, and contributions from Final Fantasy's creators made for the kind of experience that was guaranteed to be remembered this far down the line.

Chrono Trigger was last released on Nintendo DS in 2008. The Virtual Console version of the game can be yours for 800 Wii points ($10) on May 16. Now if only fans of the game could bend time and travel to next Monday right now.
