A production announcement for the Toei Animation and Banpresto co-production, Kyoso-giga, will be announced in August. This will take place at the Chara Hobby Trade Show at Makuhari Messe in the Chiba Prefecture. The event runs August 27-28. The announcement will include the voice-acting cast and a five minute promo detailing the project. Starting June 24, fans will be able to find an extended clip on the official website.
Kyoso-giga was originally announced this spring as just one of many projects on the way from Toei Animation Co. and game-developer, Banpresto Co. They hope to attract teens and youths in their early 20s with the story's elaborate visuals. Rie Matsumoto (Precure) is attached as the director with character design and key animation from Yuki Hayashi (Gurren Lagann, Mongolian Chop Squad).
The project takes place in the city of Kyoto, where time has stopped after it was isolated from the outside world. The plot is centered around a junior high girl named Koto.
