Sci-Fi Action in Appleseed Ⅹ Ⅲ Movie Edition Trailer

Shochiku's YouTube Channel Features Trailer of Movie Remix of Appleseed XII

Japanese movie studio Shochiku has posted a trailer for Appleseed XIII: Tartaros, the first of two theatrical remixes of the new CG anime based on Ghost in the Shell creator Masamune Shirow's other sci-fi series. 

 

 

Following Bandai Visual's 1988 OVA and the 2004 and 2007 Shinji Aramaki directed CG features, the new Production I.G series Appleseed XIII has Masamune Shirow overseeing a plot written by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex's Junichi Fujisaku. Prince of Tennis' Takayuki Hamana directs, with Kouichi Yamadera (Spike Spiegel) and Maaya Sakamoto assuming the roles of ESWAT cops Brialeos and Deunan.

 

The second movie, Appleseed XIII: Ouranos will be released on October 24th.

O.O OMG I can't wait for this to come out because I'm a huge Appleseed Fan and I wanted more since the last one.*squeal* Can't wait.

Here is a surprise from me, I dont like the music, the art direction or the character design. Maybe its because I liked the first film directed by John Woo so much and the second film which followed the same style, but with some variances. Ghost in a Shell is undeniably one of the greats of anime, but that does not mean an interpretation from parts of that crew are going to have the same level of quality the first and second films had. I have a 61inch tv, and the first and second films are undeniable in HD, the music was great, and the character design flawless. Did you see how blocky his power suite looked? ugh. She doesn't even look close to the character I am used to seeing. Only reason I now its her is because it is the only blond in the clip...sigh anyway after I see it I might change my mind, but for me its like someone else trying to do Final Fantasy,Advent Children other than Square Enix pictures....shudder. Another 1080p graphical feast of goodness.

I'm looking at the story again and seeing that this movie is a follow up to the new TV series... I hadn't heard about this... I'm not as big an Appleseed fan as I thought...
