Animax to Broadcast Early Works of Hayao Miyazaki

Over Five Hours of Anime TV Series and Movies will Air on Aug 6

Animax Broadcast Japan Inc. will run a five hour and 30 minute retrospective of the early work of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. The retrospective will include two Miyazaki directed episodes from the second Lupin III series and four episodes from Sherlock Hound. Future Boy Conan and two mid-length films from Isao Takahata, Panda! Go, Panda! and Panda Kopanda: Amefuri Circus no Maki will also be featured. The program will also feature some trivia about Hayao Miyazaki. Japanese actress, singer and TV-personality, Marina Watanabe, will narrate the event.

The timing for this retrospective coincides with the July 16 release of Kokurikozaka Kara (From Kokuriko Hill), which features an original story and screenplay from Hayao Miyazaki. It is set to air on August 6 through the satellite anime broadcaster, Animax.

There is no word if American partner, Crackle, will air the same series.
