Disney Princess Mononoke Rights Expire

Popular Hayao Miyazaki Movie Goes Out of Print

After online retailers began listing Hayao Miyazaki's 1997 Princess Mononoke as out of print or unavailable, Disney has confirmed that they no longer have the rights to distribute the movie. 

 

Via AnimeNews.biz, In separate emails to each respective company, both Disney (through their Buena Vista Home Video Entertainment division) and Echo Bridge distribution, the former distributor for the defunct Miramax label have confirmed that the US license for Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke is no longer held by either company and has not been renewed.
