During San Diego Comic Con, Konami laid out their Yu-Gi-Oh! game release plans for the second half of 2011, with new tins, binders and boosters scheduled for the summer and fall.
In August, “Wave 1” of the new Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible tins will be released. This wave will include the Number 17: Leviathan Dragon and Wind-Up Zenmaister tins. Each tin includes five booster packs, from Storm of Ragnarok, Hidden Arsenal 4, and Extreme Victory, a Secret Rare “Xyz” monster, a Super Rare Pot of Duality card, and three variant out-of-print cards. Suggested retail price per tin will be $19.99.
A second wave of tins, including Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and Number 10: Illumiknight, are scheduled to release in November.
Generation Force cards with new “Xyz” fourth-generation monsters monsters will be previewed at Gen Con and debut August 16. The 100 cards wave will be distributed in $3.99 boosters.
A special edition version of Generation Force will release in September. Each pack includes three Generation Force boosters and two Super Rare foil variant cards. Suggested retail price will be $9.99.
October releases include deluxe collector’s set Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years, which features selections from a combined 266 GX era cards in a binder for $24.99. Each Legendary Collection includes five “Mega Packs,” of nine cards. Each pack has one each of Secret Rare, Ultra Rare, Super Rare, and Rare cards, along with five commons, as well as promo Ultra rare cards.
The month will also feature the Gates of the Underworld structured deck, with “Dark World” cards never before released in the US, representing the armies of the underworld. Each deck includes 37 common cards, two Super Rares, one Ultra Rare, a rulebook, game mat, and dueling guide.
Photon Shockwave will be released in November and Hidden Arsenal 5 will be released in December.
