I would love to have that interface aesthetic somewhere on my phone. But I don't get it, is the balance of iOS vs Android dramatically different in Japan? I see way more iOS stuff coming from Japan than Android...

Despite Japan being tech gods themselves, (meaning the make a lot of cool gadgets), there is quite an Apple following in Japan.

I rememberPretty Sammy OAV 2: Revenge of the Imperial Electronic Brain! (from 1996) was basically a big Apple Vs. Microsoft battle, except Apple was Pineapple, & Bill Gates was Bif Standard, who wanted to make all the worlds computers use his OS, but Tenchi didn't like StandarfSoft OS & was looking for Pineapple Mach System 8, which Bif Standard didn't take too kindly to. So ensues a big battle with help from the show's antagonist, Pixy Misa & some Love-Love Monsters.

It was pretty cool, especially since I was an Apple supporter back in the dark days before Apple became the popular company it is today.

Still love Apple, but have grown to be not so elitist about it anymore. I have an Android phone, (though I plan on getting the next iPhone), & i'm on my 2nd PC now, (I've owned 5 Macs since the mid 90s).

It's all good.
