Miku revives the '80s classic anime short

The 7th MMD (MikuMikuDance) Cup has officially begun. MMD Cup is an open video competition using freeware animation programs "MikuMikuDance" or "RinRinDance(β)". One of the most popular video among Japanese anime fans so far is PonpokoP's "Twilight". The video is faithful homage to "DAICON IV Opening Animation", which used the ELO's song with the same name. 


"DAICON IV Opening Animation" is a short anime film that were produced for the 1983 DAICON IV SF convention at Osaka, Japan. The anime was produced by DAICON Film, an amateur film creator group. The main staff of the film later formed the professional animation studio Gainax

(Gunbuster, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Neon Genesis Evangelion).
