Voice Actor Junpei Takiguchi Passes Away

Actor/narrator voiced roles in Dragon Ball, Yatterman and more

Junpei Takiguchi leaves behind quite the legacy, with legendary roles throughout anime, including that of Yatterman's Dokurobei, leader of the villainous Dorombo Gang. He passed away on August 29 at the age of 80.

In addition to his role as Dokurobei—who he lended his voice to from the original '70s anime to the remake, as well as Takashi Miike's 2009 live-action Yatterman film—Takiguchi also played roles in Dragon Ball (Urunai Baba), D. Gray-Man (Millennium Earl) and Sonic the Hedgehog (Eggman), among many others.

He was considered a giant of the industry, narrating nearly a thousand episodes of NTV's railroad travel program Burari Tochugesha no Tabi from 1992 through July 2011.

Takiguchi's 7:33am JST passing was due to stomach cancer.

And so another one leaves. RIP.
Sorry to see him go. :(
Woah! Another good actor is leaving us from Japan. He did an fantatic job on D Gray Man as Millennium Earl!
I really liked him as the Millennium Earl in D. Gray-Man.
May he R.I.P.
bye-bye yo.
may he rest in peace
That's so sad. Another article about death...

I didn't know much of his work, but apparently he did a voice in Kirarin Revolution, according to Wikipedia. I don't think it was a big role, but even so, he contributed to one of my all time favorite anime, so it's sad to hear news of his death.

From what I can tell, he seems to have had a pretty decent amount of roles as well. Rest in peace.
RIP :(
but i didn't expect him to be the seiyuu of The Millennium Earl in D.Gray Man... -,-
