Details from this week's issue of Famitsu have leaked out revealing that Atlus has not one, but two Persona 4 related announcements and a massive tease in this week's issue.
First, for Playstation Vita comes Persona 4 The Golden, the portable "version up" of Persona 4 due out in Spring 2012. The remake will include a new character Marie voiced by Kana Hanazawa, new animated cut scenes including the bath event, a new opening animation with a new song by Shoji Meguro, 1.5x the amount of voiced content as the PS2 version, will use the PS Vita connectivity capabilities for a call for relief system, and other fan requested elements ("Hint: ***, which will be announced later, has been added") .
Next, for PS3, Xbox360, and the arcades comes Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, a 2D fighting game developed by the Blazblue team at Arc System Works. The game is planned to be in the arcades in Spring 2012 and on consoles in Summer 2012. The game takes place 2 months after the events of Persona 4 and includes characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4. So far confirmed is Chie (P4), Yosuke (P4), Aigis (P3), and Yu (the P4 main character).
Lastly, this week's issue mentions that the preliminary preparations to move toward development have been completed for the next numbered entry in the franchise ("Persona 5"). The staff is the same as always: Katsura Hashino directing, Shigenori Soejima in charge of character designs, and Shoji Meguro in charge of music.
