Blu-Ray & DVD Release Of "MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES" for December 21

"MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES", the Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku's first overseas concert at Anime Expo on July 2, 2011, will release on Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and CD in Japan. The CD will release on November 30, and the Blu-ray and DVD will follow on December 21.

 

The CD, Blu-ray, and DVD, which are all titled as "MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES 'Hajimemashite, Hatsune Miku desu'", contains the all 24 songs Miku performed on the day. The CD's price is 3,150 yen (US$41.40),  the Blu-ray's is 7,350 yen (US$95.90), and the DVD's is 6,300 yen (US$82.20).

I really enjoyed watching this on Nico Nico Live. It was a fun performance. While I'd probably find no reason to open it, I may buy the DVD to show my fondness of the event and support Vocaloid.

A little birdy told me [at the Otakon 2011 "Mikunopolis: Behind the Scenes" Panel] that there is the possibility of a Miku concert on the East Coast. That would be absolutely amazing!

This is too F*CKING expensive!!!! I would buy it, if it were anywhere close to a regular DVD price! Also does this DVD include the songs that were playing while we were waiting for the concert to start?

My daughters and I saw this concert, WE HAD A BLAST! We have the previous "39's Giving Day" DVD and CD set and I plan on picking this up too. The whole Vocaloids phenomenon is simply amazing technology and this is coming from a geezer who remembers when stereo phonograph players were new and computers took up a whole freaking room and used punch cards. Go Miku!!!
