North American publisher Aksys Games shot out a press release today detailing some of the extra goodies fans can expect in the Limited Edition release of Fate/EXTRA, which is due to hit PSP on November 1.
Fate/EXTRA is an RPG based on Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel, and involves an all new scenario that takes place within the universe. It features a cast composed of both new characters and fan favorites, an easy to understand battle system and "a grand story of destruction, absolution and deep insight into what it truly means to be human."
But enough about that, get to the goods! The Limited Edition, which will retail for $39.99, includes some of the same sought-after items that were bundled with the Japanese version. That would be… the special 15-page Fate Visual Works art book, and the 11-song Limited Soundtrack.
If that doesn't tickle ya, the standard retail edition will run you $29.99, and the downloadable version will hit PlayStation Network for $24.99.
Aksys sums up the plot like so:
Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one's wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by their side, the protagonist will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the "Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: "Who am I?"
