At the "Nintendo 3DS Conference 2011" held earlier today in Japan, Nintendo announced that SEGA will be releasing Hatsune Miku - Project Mirai (Tentative) or "Project Future" for the Nintendo 3DS in March of 2012 in Japan.
This rhythm game features the popular vocaloid characters as the Nendoroid series of figures, fully animated in 3D. As can be seen below, the gameplay has been completely changed from the Project Diva series of games.
Features that appear to be returning in the game include the "My Room" and the ability to change the vocaloid's costume. New to the game is a feature where the vocaloids perform with pompoms and "cheer on your life." The game also includes the ability to have a concert anywhere via the 3DS's camera and an augmented reality (AR) card.
The song lineup for the game will include at least 20 songs. The songs which play during the trailer and can be seen in the video are "Piano*Girl" by OSTER project, "SING&SMILE" by Re:nG, and "Watashi no Jikan" by Kuchbashi. The music videos for the popular songs have been taken from the internet and converted to 3D.
Promotional videos can be found on Nintendo's official site for the 3DS Conference 2011. The top video is the full trailer. Additional screenshots can be found at both links below.
