Sentai Filmworks Licenses "Persona 4 The Animation"

Persona 4 The Animation premieres October 6th in Japan

Sentai Filmworks has announced via a press release that they have licensed the upcoming Persona 4 The Animation. The 25 episode series will be distributed digitally through "many outlets" starting "soon" and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2012.

Based on previous statements by company representatives, since they are releasing it on Blu-ray, the home video release should be dubbed.

i must have this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!11!
huh....oh wait nvm.. i was thinking of something else.. I just hope they keep the same dub actors from the game in the anime
OH YES PLEASE! persona four is going too be awesome and the fact sentai is simulcasting it and plans to give it a dub is awesome.
hope we get a legal stream on the internet
The 25 episode series will be distributed digitally through "many outlets" starting "soon" seems obvious they also mean a simulcast.
So looking forward to this one! Is this going to be on Crunchyroll?
unlikely but its possible.
"though many outlets" again Interesting.
please bring to crunchy :D
And hopefully they don't add only 2 episodes like crunchyroll did to the trinity soul anime -_- that disappointed me thus I had to watch clips on youtube.
Do u know how very happy this makes me on the inside and out...... Wonderfully happy
Great... the problem is... there is no free way of sentai filmworks shows. They charge the same rate as CR to watch a single late (they are always late) simulcasted show past the first 2 eps. The service there just isn't worth it... love their DVD's since they usually release smaller titles subbed only for cheap... but their online service leaves much to be desired.

I'll just put it this way... I'm not paying $6.95 a month to watch 1 show.... especially when I've seen/own half their back catalog, most of said catalog is dubbed, which I despise.

To all those who say "support the industry you turd"... Legal streaming anime is no longer the "take what they give us" service... it's a business with multiple legal competitors... it's okay to call BS on a companies pricing structure if another competitor is offering better/more for the same price.
not all of their simulcasts need you too becdome a premeium member look at IS free users can see that freely same thing for croise.
The many outlets makes me hopefull.
It being licensed in the US will most probs mean many outlets only to the US =(
But yay to a Blu Ray release too. I'm really hyped to see/buy this
WANNA WATCH!!! but not with dubs...
omg, yes yes yes. 8DD
cool can't wait to see it
Mm. I hope to see this on either crunchy or hulu. Good news nonetheless
It kinda disheartens me that Sentai took it instead of a company like Bandai, since Sentai is Texas is based and do in house dubs and Bandai has companies like Bang Zoom (which is in LA) do their dubs. I say this cause the games original dub cast is LA based, so there is a slim chance that they'll have the same cast as the game.

Sentai has sent things to Bang Zoom before tho, so there is a very small chance. Im just hopin Sentai is smart enough to appease the fans and send this to bang zoom to be dubbed. But for all I know, maybe that costs more money so they might not do it.
Sentai FilmWorks partner is Hulu , so I think the streaming will be done via Hulu.

I have the same worries as Public Enemy as to who will do the ADR work of this anime since they based in Texas.I have the PS2 game , it would be weird to hear other voice actors for the supporting characters.
I'm hoping the dub retains the original game cast. Either way, I'm incredibly excited to see a US license announcement.
Thank you Sentai for cutting Persona 4 from my JP BD purchasing list. Now just get the video game VAs to reprise their role.
I love Persona 4. Can't wait to see the anime. Woot!
