Media Create: "Dark Souls" Top Seller with 280,000 Copies, "Senran Kagura" Sells 52,000 in First Week

Also new this week: ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection, To Heart 2 DX Plus

According to this week's Media Create chart in Japan, From Software developed Dark Souls for the PS3 was the top selling game for the week, selling just under 280,000 copies in its first week. Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls will be released in North America on October 4th. Meanwhile, the "enormous bust hyper battle" 3DS game, Senran Kagura ~Shoujo-tachi no Shinei~ took sixth place with over 52,000 copies sold. Marvelous recently said they were looking into localizing the game.

 

Also new this week in Japan was the PS3 ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection which was the number two seller for the week with just over 92,000 copies while Shadow of the Colossus and ICO individually were 14th and 20th respectively. The third place seller of the week was Yu-gi-oh 5D's Tag Force 6 for the PSP which sold over 63,000 copies in its first week while Gears of War 3 for Xbox360 sold over 56,000 to place 4th, To Heart 2 DX Plus for the PS3 sold over 24000 copies to take 8th while fellow PS3 game Shadow of the Damned sold a little over 9,000 for 18th.
