Seemingly, yesterday was a busy day for the copyright infringement sections of the Japanese police. On September 28, the same day with the arrest case by Hyogo Police, the joint investigation headquarters set up by Nara and Toyama Prefectural Police arrested a 20-year-old male office worker from Kitakatsuragi District, Nara, on suspicion of uploading the first episode of the TV anime Minami-ke and Aria the Scarlet Ammo to the video-sharing site "Himawari Douga" via the online storage site "Petite Soeur" without the permission from the copyright holder of the series on April 26. The crime was detected by an anonymous report to Toyama Police.
According to the buzz in the net, the suspect was a well-known member of a Japanese illegal anime upload community. He had also uploaded Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi and R-15. He even openly announced that he was going to illegally upload some of the 2011 fall season anime, including
Fate/Zero, C3 (C-Cube), Maken-ki!, and Guilty Crown. He admitted his guilty to the police and said,
"I was addicted to uploading anime because I was so happy to read the appreciative comments from the people".
