Based on the light novel series Miniskirt Space Pirates by Yuichi Sasamoto with illustrations by Noriyuki Matsumoto, the anime was originally supposed to be ready for this year, but got pushed back. The story revolves around high school student Marika who is suddenly thrown into the role of space pirate ship captain after finding out that her supposedly dead father was, until recently, a captain, himself.
