New manga acquisitions, Inuyasha: The Final Act, and more

Viz kicked off their panel by gifting all attendees a copy of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact, which comes out this Tuesday on PSP. From there, straight into announcements. 

 

They're putting together an original art book to benefit Architecture for Humanity. Art for Hope from Viz Media and Autodesk will be available as an ebook December 1st. Before then, you can donate in exchange for a poster.

 

New manga acquisitions include:

 

*Jiu Jiu by Toya Tobina volume 1 coming July 2012, volume 2 October 2012

*Loveless by Yun Kouga (picked up from defunct Tokyopop) volume 9 for June 2012, 10 in October

 

They're also publishing MM9, a sci-fi novel by Hiroshi Yamamoto. eBook and print are coming January 17th.

 

Remember Mr. Men and Little Miss? Mr. Strong Good Thing I Came Along! will be released by Viz in July of next year for $6.99 with story by Michael Daedalus Kenny and art by Gabriel Corbera.

 

Voltron Force volume 3, Tournament of Lions, will be released in August of 2012 for $7.99. Volumes 1 and 2 are coming in April. This is the full color graphic novel based on the new cartoon. 

 

Mameshiba We Could Be Heroes! is coming in July of 2012 for $6.99 and a Mameshiba activity book called How To Be the Best Friend Ever comes out the following month. Both are $6.99. A sticker book, Mameshiba Love Winter, comes out this winter.

 

As for animation:

 

*Hero: 108 season 1 volume 4 is coming December 6th for $9.97

*Pokémon DP: Sinnoh League Victors is coming January 10, 2012

*Blue Dragon: Trial of the Shadows coming December 16th, 2011

*To Netflix: Naruto [classic], Bleach movie 1, Inuyasha movies 1-4

*Naruto Shippuden Box Set 9 ships January 2012 for $49.99; downloadable on October 24 (Amazon, XBL, PSN, and iTunes)

*Inuyasha: The Final Act coming to DVD and Blu-ray "definitely next year"

 

They reiterated their digital manga announcement from Friday, emphasizing it as their answer to the pirate sites, as well as being the best way to keep up with Japanese release schedules. They also mentioned during the Q&A they're looking into the possibility of doing Shoujo Beat Alpha.
