"Catherine" Ships Half a Million Copies Worldwide

Atlus' puzzler helps support parent company Index

While not all of those copies translate into sales, Atlus' Catherine has done a mighty fine job of moving units since its debut, with 500,000 copies shipped worldwide.

This bodes especially well for Index, Atlus' parent company, who was in the red in its previous fiscal year. Catherine helped boost the company's results thanks to its strong performance both in Japan and other regions. The company also mentioned the Persona series' strong brand performance.

Who here purchased Catherine at some point since its release back in July?

I love this game; the gameplay is highly engaging, being as simplistic as it is xD
I purchased this game and enjoyed it very much. One of the best games I have played this year without a doubt!

Anyone that hasn't played it yet should pick it up!!
Have never heard of it before, but looks interesting enough :)
Oh wow! If you want to learn more about it hit our Catherine tag to see the past stories on the game: http://www.crunchyroll.com/newsfeed/tag/catherine
I purchased it since it released in the US, I even wore the Vincent underwear yesterday, cause of lack of clean/dry ones :p
I have to say it wasn't the best underwear to wear, but doable.
One of the only games I've picked up this year, but damned proud that I did. Overall a great game, and I really wish more people would play it.
They deserve the sells. They did a very good job creating an engaging story line that people can relate infused with a game style that I can only describe as a frantic cross between Tetris and Q-bert.
I want to get a few atlus ps3 games but i can't find any in the shops i usually check but on ration day i'll go to wal mart and gamestop to see if there have been any pricebreaks.
Buy online then.
High street shops are really bad for keeping things in stock. Wal mart will probably be worse, it's unlikely they'd stock anything besides AAA titles and shovelware in the first place.
I inported this game for america! worth every penny.
I bought the game a day after it was released in Europe. I was pretty stoked. Good game but extremely hard and frustrating.
Catherine was amazing. I was especially excited when I read that Catherine was also a test run for how they wanted Persona 5 to look.
I bought it on the day it came out, the love is over edition, of course. It's an amazing game. The story was just amazing and the gameplay was great as well. Most definitely in my top 5 games of 2011.
I preordered the deluxe edition. And got it on release day.
I bought this game. I had a lot of fun with it. The game play was very addictive.
Really tough to to finish stages, but very rewarding. Simply put... amazing game :)
bought it a day or two after it came out pretty good but i would recommend a rent first before buying
I bought this game on day one and absolutely loved it! I played it so much I was dreaming of sheep pushing blocks around. lol

It really turned out to be a huge success, though I'm not surprised because it truly is a great game. I recommend those that haven't tried this game yet give it a shot!
Oh yeah, I love the game!
And it isn't even released in Europe yet. more sale to come
not in Europe? your kidding right?
Nope. it's being released in the EU at the end of the year/begining of next year
This game is a challenge , beautiful ,anyone else got with Katherine :)
I'm waiting for the price to drop.
The game is awesome and I was still doing the puzzles in my head long after I turned off my Xbox.
I buy pretty much everything Atlus ships. Keep it up!
I bought the Love is over edition and loved it! I cannot get past a boss stage with the ice blocks in it though.
I bought it back in July and loved it. But the real kicker is that as a NorCal fighting game player, I was more surprised when my local monthly tournament (NorCal Install) started to run a tournament for it and receiving immediate internet success with it (beating out the Blazblue viewership). This recent hype has even escalated to the point where Atlus is sponsoring the Catherine tournament at Dromstruction, a new major NorCal tournament being held in Davis, CA this weekend.
Cathrine is H-O-T hot.
Fantastic Game and the soundtrack is a nice touch
