The Tokyo International Film Festival, which drew to a close this past weekend, recently premiered Hiroshi Nishikiori's (Azumanga Daioh) anime adaptation of American author Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House children's book series, ahead of the movie's January 7th, 2012 Japanese release.
The Dinosaurs Before Dark book adaptation finds eight-year-old Jack (voiced by Keiko Kitagawa, who played live-action Sailor Mars) and seven-year-old Annie (voiced by Mana Ashida, who played Rin in the live action Bunny Drop) traveling back to the Cretaceous Period.
Nishikiori's Azumanga collaborator and Code Geass writer Ichiro Okouchi scripted the feature, with Genshiken's Yoshiaki Yanagida on design.
