Warner Bros. Has Two Potentials for AKIRA's Tetsuo

Ezra Miller and Alden Ehrenreich are contenders for pivotal role

We hope you like this kind of stuff as much as we do, because there are going to be plenty of Akira casting maybes flying our way in the coming months. The latest concerns Tetsuo, who The Hollywood Reporter describes as "a young man with telekinetic abilities who becomes a dangerous weapon." Contenders for that role include 21-year-old Alden Ehrenreich and 18-year-old Ezra Miller.

Some of Alden Ehrenreich's previous works include starring in Francis Ford Coppola's 2009 film Tetro, and guest roles in TV shows like CSI and Supernatural. Ezra Miller starred in the indie thriller We Need to Talk About Kevin, and also held recurring roles in TV series Californication and Royal Pains

The film's synopsis, via Variety

"Set in New Manhattan, the cyberpunk sci-fi epic follows the leader of a biker gang who must save his friend, discovered with potentially destructive psychokinetic abilities, from government medical experiments."

Put yourself in charge of casting for a moment, if you will. Which one of these young lads would YOU choose to play the role of Tetsuo? As for me, I'd go back in time and cast Edward Furlong circa Terminator 2: Judgment Day
