Goofy extra costumes are a staple of games. I love being able to play through Onimusha dressed as a panda, or Bayonetta with her dressed up as a schoolgirl the hulking Dark Knight Returns skin in Arkham City. With the sequel to Tecmo Koei’s Warriors Orochi coming out in Japan on December 22, a very timely pre-order bonus is available for Japanese players, decking Empress Dowager Wang Yuanji, heroic Mitsunari Ishida, and crazy villainess Da Ji in Christmas outfits.

Yeah, because all I want for Christmas is a sword in the face.
Tecmo Koei has also shown off a bunch of new screens featuring guest characters Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Jeanne d’Arc (Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War) and Achilles (Warriors: Legends of Troy).

Man, this game looks nice. I know it’s the same thing every year with some new characters, but I liken it to the action-game equivalent of a sports game--if you like the series, then of course you’re gonna pick it up. Honestly, I hope the Christmas outfits come out over here, because I cannot get enough of Mitsunari Ishida looking like his mom overbundled him for the cold weather. What about you? Anybody else hope for Guan Yu in a full-on Santa suit, searching the battlefield for who was the naughtiest?
