This is a follow-up for the September 28 report. On November 22, Ishikawa Prefectural Board of Education has taken disciplinary action of a two month suspension from his office against the 33-year-old male primary teacher from Kanazawa-city, Ishikawa, who used Share file-sharing software to upload the episodes of the TV anime K-ON!!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai without the permission from the copyright holder of the series in the beginning of August this year.
This is the first disciplinary action against the faculty in Ishikawa this year. He was arrested by Hyogo Police on September 28 and has already paid the 400,000 yen (about US$5,200) fine. He admitted that he had uploaded the anime episodes for a few years and commented to Board of Education, "It was a very imprudent act."
Are the two month suspension and the US$5,200 fine the proper punishment for illegal anime uploader like him?
What's your opinion?
