"Zero No Tsukaima F" Airdates Confirmed

4th and final season of magical adventure comedy to air on January 7th in Japan

After months of anticipation and confirmation of an January 2012 airdate, the full listing of air dates for the long awaited 4th and final season of Zero no Tsukaima has been confirmed on the show's dedicated website.

The final season of the series is also notable for having the script developed directly by light novel series author Noboru Yaniguchi, with production by Genco and JC Staff. The series will begin airing on January 7th, with terrestrial networks following suit at differing times.

  • Tokyo MX: January 9th (1:30-2:00).
  • Chiba TV: January 8th (00:30-1:00).
  • tvk: January 8th (1:30-2:00).
  • Sun TV: January 10th (02:05-02:35).
  • TV Aichi: January 10th (02:02:30).
  • BS11: January 14th (00:00-00:30).
  • AT-X: January 7th (Repeat airings on Saturday: 20:30-21:00 / 22:30-23:00 / Wednesday: 14:30-15:00 / 02:30-03:00).

The first season of the series was previously licensed by Geneon USA shortly before the company shut down active licensing and distribution in November of 2007. Funimation then picked up the series along with other Geneon USA titles the following summer in a new distribution arrangement.

However, Funimation bluntly opened up about the performance of the first season of the series along with other Geneon USA titles earlier this year which confirmed that Zero no Tsukaima did poorly in terms of sales, leading the company to actively refuse licensing the following seasons.

That being said, would you like to see Crunchyroll pick up the show as a Winter 2012 simulcast?
