After two years, Lupin the 3rd returns to Japanese TV with the new special, Chi no Kokuin ~ Eien no Mermaid, scheduled to air on NTV's Friday Night Roadshow on December 2nd. The new anime, with design by Redline's Takeshi Koike, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the debut of the first of three Lupin III TV series.
For the first time in 16 years, the voice actors for many of the major characters in the Lupin the 3rd series will be changing. Zenigata will now be played by Koichi Yamadera (Togusa in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), Goemon will now be played by Daisuke Namikawa (Fai in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle), and Fujiko will now be played by Miyuki Sawashiro (Celty in Durarara!). Lupin and Daisuke Jigen's voice actors will not change.
