First Look At Live-Action "Rurouni Kenshin"
Takeru Sato in costume, plus release date
An image of Kenshin Himura in costume for the live-action adaptation of the Rurouni Kenshin anime has been revealed. Here he is as played by Takeru Sato:
Note also that the movie has a release date of August 25th, 2012.

agreed but none the less it looks awesome =D.
As others have said, he has to be serious when he needs to be.
But Satou Takeru I have faith in being able to pull off both aspects of Kenshin *because* of his role as Nogami Ryoutarou on Den-O. It was the only KR where the main rider got possessed by essentially "ghosts" and had multiple personality disorder because of it. Nogami Ryoutarou the character himself is *very* much comparable to Himura Kenshin's goofy and even accident prone persona while his possessed Rider selves ready to kick ass reflects the Battousai part. As far as look goes, I always thought that when Ryoutarou was possessed by Kintaros that he looked like Kenshin, so this was a dream casting job come true.

This looks good. I can't believe they cast "Kamen Rider Den-O" as Kenshin. That's going to be interesting.

kenshin is serious though... speed you ought to see the ovas.. that is not lighthearted at all. and kenshin is VERY serious. for those who think kenshin is serious you ought to see samurai x trust and betrayal and samurai x reflections. and god takeru sato looks just friggin hot as kenshin.. a good kenshin cosplay is GREAT

I saw a clip from the anime and his voice sounded like a strong female lead instead of a young person or man.

Well Himura Kenshin was a bad ass and an assasin and the manga was suppose to have a serious atmosphere as it started. However it became lighter because the target audience are teenagers.However the OVA killed Kenshiin for me , I can not watch the anime again,
