VIDEO: "The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra" Opening Titles
Second Avatar Series Planned for Mid-2012
Avatar sequel Last Airbender: Legend of Korra is due to run on Nickelodeon in mid-2012, but little media has circulated since summer's San Diego Comic con trailer. Well, prepare for something to stoke your Bender hype, because Legend of Korra's opening title sequence has turned up.

I don't think he'll have a necessarily, big part. Lets look at this, the guy speaking is Ang's son, and since we know being the Avatar is not genetic, he's not the avatar. What is (Presumably anyway) genetic is bending. So I believe Ang's son will be one of the only Air benders alive (perhaps he'll have a small training school saving air benders from extinction). So most likely he'll only teach Korra the Air element, then perhaps show up for the final fight, or when there in a pinch. Also as a fanboy, I'm wondering if 's the son of Ang, and Katara. Nick is almost defenitly going to withhold that information from us or nerd-bait us. I bet first episode we see hm in he'll say "My father was the avatar and my mother was a water bender", but never actually saying her name.
Katara is the mother. Aang and Katara got married and had kids. This is already confirmed.
i thought Korra was their daughter? that's why the trailer is about her and the show too.... maybe the opening credits was a draft of what will be said because in the trailer korra seems to be a girl that is unless their son has boobs then i'd understand....=/

She's not. A bunch of information about the characters has already been release. The heroine is not related to the other characters in any way - beyond being Aang's reincarnation, of course. It seems she's going to be taught Airbending by Aang's son (presumably the person narrating the opening).
Avatar was EASILY my favorite American cartoon.

so apparently katara and ang had three children which only one is known as of now (Tenzin) he is Korra's airbending master. He is the youngest of Aang and Katara's three children, and the only one that is an airbender. He has three children himself, that are all airbenders Jinora( girl) Ikki(girl) Meelo (boy) :)

Cmeron's "Avatar" and M. Night Shyamalan's "Avatar: The Last Air Bender" were scheduled to come out at about the same time in the theaters so Cameron bought the name.
Hence forth it's just "The Last Air Bender" series, no more "Avatar." Only the original series of video can use the "Avatar" name, everything else (toys, games, future videos, etc) can't.
It was a rather short-sighted decison to sell the name, in my opinion.

They didn't "sell" the name--they only bought the rights to it for the Small Screen (TV) when they created the series. When you make a time machine, YOU can go back, tell the A:TLA producers that their animated series is going to be SO successful it'll be optioned into a movie Series (and don't let M. Night get signed on as director), and Cameron's story can be a hit with a different name. Happy?
Incidentally, James Cameron ONLY has the right to use the term for movies: there will never be a small screen "Avatar" series based on James Cameron's movie(s) with that name, because the animated series has the rights to that.

YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!! The animation and music's got it stepped up a notch and the action looks epic! I'm going to miss Aang, Zuko, Katara, Sokka, etc, but I am so stoked for this! if the trailer and opening are anything to go by, I'm going to love this almost as much as the previous series. Because I don't know how it would be possible to be more epic than the original.

She's a waterbender. The Avatar cycle is water to earth, earth to fire, fire to air, and then back to water.
I don't believe that it'll be better than the original...but it's possible that it can be just as great.
The sequel is a new world with technology involved. I'll miss Aang and everyone,
but I'm sure that he'll show up somehow. Visions. Dreams. Meditating.

There is going to be a comic that sets itself right after the the end of the first TV series Called Avatar: The Last Promise, I think.

I know it's technically not an anime show but how great would it be if CR was able to get this show onto the website, particularly if they get the original show on here as a build up to the new episodes.
It would deffo raise the profile for the release of the sequel, Nicko and CR should try and make this happen.

I knew they would make another, the first series kind of ending with a cliff haneger, Cant wait to see the new one ^^
And they really made the martial arts go from good to great, Stepped up the game with animation too. Two thumbs up

The Deets. Set 70 years after the events of the first series. Korra is the latest incarnation of the Avatar and comes from the southern water tribe. She is around 16 to 17 years old (although we'll see her at age 5 in flashbacks) and has already mastered the elements of fire, water and earth. Korra must travel to Republic city (which was founded bu Aang and Zuko) to find Tenzin ( youngest child of Aang and Katara and the only Airbender in the family). Tenzin has 3 kids (all Airbenders) and a forth on it's way with his wife Pema (who is not a bender).
Korra will be accompanied her Polar Beardog Naga and the brothers Mako and Bolin (interestingly the brothers have different bending powers one is a fire and the other is earth showing the mixing pot that is Republic city, presumably their parents were from different tribes) these 4 will be the main charectors in the series although I'm sure Tenzin and his family will play a huge part of the first season.
There is a sport called professional bending which will be like mixed matial arts with bending in huge arenas. The teams of 3 are made up of fire, earth and water benders 1 of each.
There is an elite police unit of metalbenders who were initially trained by Toph and her daughter is the Chief of police.
Aang will only appear in spirit form to guide Korra as the earlier Avatars appered to Aang in the original series.
The main baddies are Chi blockers a group of anti benders lead by Amon and are called The Equalists.
Two seasons are confirmed season 1 will be 12 eps and season 2 will be 14 eps making 26 in all.

That aside, before anyone asks "How could they have advance technology so fast?", I rebuttal you with this. They had a huge, complex drill that was self propelled in order to take over The Earth Nation Capital (Ba-Sing-Sa, if I remember/spell it correctly). Is it really hard to see this kinda of advancment in less than 50 years?

from the look of things she picks up fire pretty quickly, which is a bit of a surprise. Both Roku and Ang had trouble mastering their opposition element. I guess it's a testament to this girl having something of a fiery temper.

This is gonna be a great series in its own right but one of the main reasons I'm excited is that I'm sure we'll get some info on what happened after the war. Especially with Zuko & family

The last thing I heard on this topic is that Korra is the granddaughter of Sokka. If you look closely you can see the resemblence as well. It was Aang's son who taught Korra the air element. But in any event it will definetly be a great show to watch, whoever her parentage is!
