Poor Star Wars Christmas Special... the 1978 holiday TV event has to be one of the most derided works of sci-fi television, even if was our first introduction to Boba Fett, not to mention Chewbacca's wife, son and father (Malla, Lumpy and Itchy, respectively). Not even George Lucas could find it in his heart to love the Special. But, you know who embraces this nerd media outcast? The high school musical comedy Glee.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Morrison, who directs next week's Christmas Glee one-off, told ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live that the episode features a special within the episode that's a throwback to the Star Wars holiday special and the Judy Garland Christmas special.

"We called George Lucas and they gave us Chewbacca," Morrison told Kimmel.

Hopefully the special will feature Chewbacca's own holiday classic, "What Can You Get a Wookiee for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb?)", as heard on the 1980 album Christmas in the Stars:
