VIDEO: Time-Lapse Waiting Lines at Comiket 81

Comiket/Comic Market 81, the biggest doujinshi event which was held at Tokyo Big Sight in December 29-31, reported an attendance total of 500,000 across all three days. Despite the huge number, no serious trouble or accident has been reported so far. A person named moconago has posted the two time-lapse videos from a hotel room nearby proved how the waiting lines at Comiket 81 moved so smoothly. The videos were filmed in five second intervals. Check how the Comiket attendees were organized and controlled orderly by the staff. (*the videos have no sound)

 

DAY 1: 6:30 am - 4:30 pm (the lines started moving forward at  00:42)

 

DAY 3: 1:30 am - 2:00 pm (the lines started moving forward at 02:05)

No way that can happen hear with out the use of Police, and Swat teams in full riot gear.

People started lining up at 1 am . Some people are die hard. and it looks like everone in the big lines are in by 1 pm .i am not die hard. at all i will show up at 1 pm ,

I wish every event could have participants such as these people who follow and respect the rules. It makes everything fun, easy, and efficient.

That's insane. I'm curious, though: when the lines move in, do the previous sets move out? I couldn't help but think all these people in one building doesn't go over too well.
