Sentai Filmworks Announces "Inu x Boku SS" License

Series to begin airing on Japanese TV on January 12th

In another example of how quickly it jumps on new licenses, Sentai Filmworks has announced the license to the forthcoming Inu x Boku SS supernatural comedy even before the show starts airing in Japan next week. To make the announcement more interesting, streaming and home video rights have been confirmed, with a Blu-Ray release also being announced for later this year.

Synopsis
Torn between the desire to live on her own and a crippling fear of being alone and unprotected, Shirakiin Ririchiyo’s dream of independence had long seemed impossible and she seemed doomed to the life of a secluded shut-in.  Until, that is, she arrived at the mysterious mansion known as Ayakashi Kan, where every potential resident must pass a strict series of tests before being allowed into the Haven.  The drawback to this private Eden, however, is that every resident must also have a personal Secret Service agent accompanying them at all times, a restriction that Ririchiyo initially fights… until she begins to suspect that the agent assigned to her, Soushi Miketsukami, may be far more than he appears to be.  Could the “guardian angel” looking over Ririchiyo’s shoulder be more than just foxy looking and actually a fox spirit?  As it turns out, that’s not the only mystery that needs to be solved!  Get ready for supernatural sleuthing and spirited suspense as the most secretive secret service of all unleashes a whole series of stunning surprises in INU X BOKU S.S.!

The show has also gained popularity for its all-star voice cast which features the following actors:

  • Rina Hidaka (Tiger & Bunny's Kaede Kaburagi) as Ririchiyo Shirakiin
  • Yūichi Nakamura (Fairy Tail's Gray Fullbuster) as Sōshi Miketsukami

Woohoo! Cannot wait! Will it be simulcast as well?
HELL YESSS!

With a bluray release meaning a dub?

DOUBLE HELL YESSSS!

Sentai I love you although I would have loved you way more than now if you would have gotten your hands on Natsume Yuujinchou and Brave 10 instead of NIS. >_>
I don't understand how people can like dubs so much. They suck 95% of the time.
I don't understand how people like you can be ignorant and close-minded.
I'm not. Lets say that you want to watch "Harry Potter". Would it be better in English, or Chinese? Our culture compared to Japans culture is completely different. So when an American actor is "trying" to be, act, and think like someone would in Japan and then portray it onto a character in an "Japanese anime". It just doesn't work. The people of Japan have different attitudes, lifestyles, languages, histories, and their own sense of comedy. Just look at other cultures that think weird things are funny or interesting, but to you or us its just boring or stupid. Think of something thats NOT an anime. Would it be just as good to take a russian, chinese, or brazilian TV show and just put english dubs on it? No, it would suck. Its impossible to port over the feelings and emotions of the original to something in a new language. Also notice I said they don't all suck, just most of them. (The percentage that are bad is probably higher than I wrote though)
Keep on thinking like a moron. You are still close-minded and ignorant, there is nothing wrong with dubs.
I didn't say something was wrong with them. They just suck :) You haven't explained why you like them, but I think I explained very well why I don't like them. I compare the original and the dubs. When you compare things one thing will be better than the other. You saying that dubs are better than the original? Also I am a very open minded person and just because I don't like something doesn't mean I am not open minded.
I'm in agreement, dubs annoy me. In other countries, there are large dubbing industries with top talent dubbing Hollywood movies. Here it seems voice over work/dubbing by top talent is usually reserved for huge releases, Disney/Pixar, Miyazaki, etc. I also get used to the voices of the anime actors, they become familiar to me. I find the acting quality often seems better on the Japanese version, though there are definitely exceptions. Paranoia Agent is an example of really good dubbing. It's definitely improving, but I still prefer subbed and have a really hard time watching a dub.
Also, they were just mentioning the amazing Japanese cast. Looking forward to it!
Thank you. Yes the quality of American dubs is really horrible and they use no name actors with few exceptions. Maybe someday they will do a better job, but even then I don't know if I will care for them. Even the dubs for Howls Moving Castle bugged me. They used Christian Bale batman voice for this 20 something year old small blond wizard guy. Seriously.
There's something wrong with you people.
Yep, we have good taste and can differ between good and bad.
Being a sub-only elitist doesn't mean you have good taste. One again, this site is full of morons like you.
I don't have to like 2 separate things equally to have good taste and am not a moron because of it. You are acting like a child with stupid arguments. Instead of just saying I'm stupid or I'm a moron explain to me why I should like dubs equally or more than subs because I find no reason to.
Wonder if they are actually going to stream it in a simulcast, or even within a week of JP air. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
All-star voice cast. O nice.
This leaves me happy for the rest of the day!
well time to get my anime network account back up
I hope this will be a simulcast!! *A*

I am crossing my fingers!!
just reading the voice cast makes me think this is going to be EPICC
I REALLY hope this comes to CR
