30 Artists to Cover The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” for Disaster Relief

“JAPAN UNITED with MUSIC” to distribute single for quake charity on January 25

Takeshi Kobayashi and Yellow Magic Orchestra's Ryuichi Sakamoto have organized a charity project titled “JAPAN UNITED with MUSIC”  in which 30 Japanese music artists will cover The Beatles' hit song “All You Need Is Love”, with all profits donated to help reconstruction efforts and child victims of the earthquake.

 

The charity single will include vocals from AI, Imai Miki, Atsushi (EXILE), Takahiro (EXILE), Crystal Kay, Kj (Dragon Ash), Koizumi Kyoko, Kobayashi Takeshi, Sakurai Kazutoshi (Mr. Children), Salyu, JUJU, SUGIZO, Superfly, Tortoise Matsumoto, GAMO (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), Kitahara Masahiko (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), NARGO (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), Yanaka Atsushi (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), Naoto Inti Raymi, Nanba Akihiro, VERBAL (m-flo), Yo Hitoto, Fujimaki Ryota (Remioromen), Hotei Tomoyasu, BONNIE PINK, miwa, Yashiki Gota, Sakamoto Ryuichi (Yellow Magic Orchestra), Takahashi Yukihiro (Yellow Magic Orchestra), and Hosono Haruomi (Yellow Magic Orchestra).

 

Distribution of the song will begin on January 25th, and the single (which will include a DVD with a PV) will be released on March 7th.
