Vocaloid China Illustration Contest Winners Announced

VOCALOID CHINA, the official Vocaloid site in China, has announced the Grand Prize and four other winners of Vocaloid China Project, an illustration contest for their Chinese Vocaloid character. The Grand Prize is a 15-year-old girl named 雅音宫羽 (Yayin Gongyu) drawn by MOTH.

 

The name "Gongyu" 宫羽 are two notes in ancient Chinese music — much like "do re mi" in English. The name "Yayin" 雅音 means "elegant sound." She was born on October 8, 157cm tall, and holding a traditional Chinese snack Tanghulu. The Chinese Vocaloid product featuring her will be released on June 12, 2012. How do you like her? Will she be the next Miku?

I think my favourite one is Ling Caiyin by rikuhao, in terms of both design and art style. The winning design is really cute too though, and the name is really creative; I like it.

Unhappy at the loli look of it, and puzzled by the unaesthetic asymmetry in the socks, but otherwise good to go. Doesn't look out of place.

I rather like Ling Caiyin the most, but Yayin Gongyu is rather cute too. Actually I kind of prefer the variation of Yayin's dress in the second picture from the top. Makes her look rather cute and elegant.

I think Ling Caiyin would've been better :S Only because it's more appealing in the way that they incorporated red as the lucky color. Plus she seems more playful rather than cute compared to the winning one.
