Discotek sets "Panda! Go Panda!" "Unico, 1st "Lupin the 3rd" tv series for spring

North American anime and Asian movie distributor Discotek Media has announced spring release dates for Panda! Go Panda! - directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata, with concept, script and animation by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki; Unico - developed by "God of Manga" Osamu Tezuka for Hello Kitty makers Sanrio; and Lupin the 3rd: The Complete First Series.

Discotek also mentions that they have "lots more classics to announce soon!"

The 1972 early writing work of Miyazaki, Panda! Go Panda! will be released on April 17th 2012.

The Fantastic Adventures of Unico and Unico in the Island of Magic will be released May 15th 2012.

In 1976, "God of Manga" Osamu Tezuka developed the character Unico for shoujo anthology Ririka, published by character good makers Sanrio of Hello Kitty fame.  Sanrio would then feature this characters in productions during the 1977 to 1985 period in which the company attempted to make anime movies for an international audience. Lupin the 3rd's first (of three) TV series will be released  on June 26th 2012. Episodes 7 to 23 were co-written by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata.

Defiantly gonna get these titles when they come out! I am a nut for classic anime, especially for stories by Osamu Tezuka. ^^
* Definitely XP
Panda-Go-Panda is like, the first anime I'v ever watched. Ahhh, good times...
That Lupin III cover looks fantastic. Hopefully the price is good and they rerelease the old Geneon DVDs of the other seasons.
That wouldn't be a good idea, unless it was subbed only. Geneon's dub of the second Lupin series was "macekred" as TV Tropes calls it. To be exact, Geneon (or whoever actually dubbed the show) tried to make it look as though it took place in the "present day" of when the DVDs first came out, rather than 1977 (when the show originally aired). Among other things, the dub referred to famous people who probably weren't even born yet, like Shaq for instance. If Discotek (or any other company for that matter) were to also release the 2nd TV series, it should be either sub only, or feature a complete redub. However, since the latter is unlikely, it would have to be former.
I'll be on the lookout for Unico!
i watch unico as a kid looking forward to watching it again
