Kotobukiya Shows Off "Denpa Onna To Seishun Otoko" ~ Towa Erio Ani*Statue

Figure to be imported to North America in July

The figures folks at Kotobukiya have posted a preview of their Ani*Statue recreation of Denpa Onna To Seishun Otoko ("Electric Wave Woman and Youthful Man," or, less literally, "Tin Foil Hat Girl") heroine Towa Erio. The 1/8 scale figure, based on a sculpt by Gentlemen Club 03, is coming in June.

The light novel series by Hitoma Iruma and Buriki was adapted into a spring 2011 anime series by Shaft and Madoka Magica director Akiyuki Shinbo.

From Kotobukiya's Facebook post:

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Finally, the main character of “Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko,” the hit Japanese franchise of light novels, manga, and anime, has become an Ani*Statue. A curious young girl obsessed with aliens and believing herself to be an extraterrestrial, it’s Towa Erio! The petite girl hangs out at school, and her pose captures Erio perfectly as she playfully leans back on her desk while waving at you, giving the illusion of motion. Dressed in a short brown skirt, a loose-fitting white shirt that hangs open around her shoulders, and a red tie, the alien buff is true to her character from the manga and anime with her cute little bare feet! Of course, Erio’s bright blue eyes light up her smiling face and they match her long blue locks. Sculpted by Gentlemen Club 03, she’s nearly 8 inches tall (1/8 scale) sitting on her included school desk base. Whether she’s actually an alien as she claims or merely a human being like the rest of us, Erio makes for a great display piece!

Available June 2012.
