Shokotan Cosplays as Madoka Magica and Squid Girl

Shoko Nakagawa, AKA “Shokotan”, was Japan’s first female otaku celebrity and first superstar blogger. And while she’s since graduated to becoming a slightly more mainstream sensation, she’s been keeping her anime-manga fan roots firm with a recent series of cosplay outfits inspired by both Madoka Magica and Squid Girl. 

 

 

Both outfits were worn at an annual party and gathering for members of Shoko's fan club that happened over the weekend. More pics at Shokotan's blog.

the madoka costume is cute, but the squid girl costume doesn't give any sense of effort. maybe having the hat is so far back because of the weight of the tentacles make it fall off but the fact that she's not even making an effort to make them look like her actual hair. the girl herself really is quite cute though.

i like the madoka magica cosplay, but ika musume doesnt have hair, she has tentacles.
