Following previous interviews with Madoka Magica English dub voice director Alex Von David, Madoka Kaname voice Christine Marie Cabanos and Sayaka Miki voice Sarah Williams, Aniplex has posted a conversation with Mami Tomoe's Carrie Keranen. A new set of  subtitled Fate/zero trailers were also added to Aniplex's Youtube channel.

 

The Puella Magi Madoka Magica Limited Edtion Box Set (BD/DVD/CD combo) Vol. 1-3 is available for pre-order ahead of its February 14th release date.

 

 

The Limited Edition Fate/zero Blu-Ray Disc Box I is available for pre-order ahead of its March 7th 2012 release

well mami's voice is pretty good. i can't wait to see how kyoko's voice sounds like i can't really tell how her voice sounds like in the trailer

...Look, I've never understood this so maybe someone could make sense of this.

There is a sub option correct? Can't you just focus on that rather than complain about the fact that there is a dub? I honestly don't see a reason why anyone complains about dubs. I mean, if there was ONLY dubs I could understand, but I'm just saying that since there is a dub and a sub on the same disk, there's no real reason to.

Between watching and enjoying a show in Japanese first and knowing HOW Japanese a show is, if a dub of that show exists and doesn't feel quite AS Japanese as the Japanese track (or isn't as "originally intedned" as some purists would call it), then from an anime fan's point of view it's a bad dub.

It's kind of hilarious because that defeats the pupose of the dub being an "adaptation" for an American audience which these companies are trying to sell a show to. The point of an adaptation is that you NEED to make change in order to.... well, adapt, adjust to new conditions.

Not all anime fans feel that way. Granted, I've watched so many awful dubs that I mainly only hit them for shock value now, but it's not really a matter of dubs not being "Japanese enough" so much as I usually just can't stomach the voice acting for long. I couldn't really say whether that's a problem with my tastes or with the voice actors chosen for the dubbing. It's also possible that I personally just lock on to the first voices I hear for a character as being "correct", which with the exception of a few old shows that were on Cartoon Network in the late 90s, have always been the Japanese voices.

That said, even though I find them mostly unwatchable, dubs in general are a good thing. They increase the marketability of the shows I like and widen the possibilities of other people getting into anime like I did so long ago.

You're quite right. And I won't watch it either. But the reason I was "complaining" is because dubs almost never live up to the Japanese counterpart. Most of the time, they're a disgrace to the original. MSMM was definitely one of the animes not meant to be dubbed. Hope that makes sense to you.
