As you may have seen a little over a week ago, Final Fantasy turns 25 this year, and Square-Enix is starting its own celebration with some cool-looking promotional goods.
First up are the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary tumblers being released at the end of March, featuring art from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, and a cool little Moogle design with the 25th Anniversary logo on it.
In the middle of April, a special-edition set of playing cards will be released, featuring character art from series designers Yoshitaka Amano and Tetsuya Nomura, along with classic-styled chibi character designs and the series' logos. In an especially terrifying move, the deck's two Jokers are Kefka (FFVI) and Gilgamesh (FFV). Not cool, Square!
Kinda funny seeing Final Fantasy XIV get left out of the line-up. Each of the tumblers will be 1900 yen (about $25US) and the set of 54 playing cards will cost 1200 yen (about $16US). Not too shabby! Personally, a game of Hearts with these could get pretty vicious--but then again, Hearts always gets vicious when one person (usually me) is being a raging tool. What do you think about these? What other promotions do you think Square-Enix will be doing to celebrate 25 years of Final Fantasy?
