It's... beautiful. Lost Canvas was a great prequel series, but it seems like they're going the PreCure route with this kickass magical boy series (what, that's what it is).
well magical bishies....plus one girl :P
wIll this fall after the lost canvas?
*dies from happiness*
looks pretty awesome cant wait :)
you MUST get it once it's released.
it seems pretty likely actually since if im reading correctly its taking area no kishis timeslot plus they got lost canvas....so why the hell not?
So Saint Seiya gets a new Anime and all DBZ got was Kai?

Wonderful -_-
dbz kai flopped live with it were not getting a new reboot just live with what you got. this is saint seiyas 25th aniversiry and now is the time to pimp it out to the extreme also saint seiya CAN work as a sequel since its one endless war that happens every 100 year besides saint seiya has long been overdue for new content.
ugh damn typoes anniversary*
Blame TOEI. They're the ones who were to freaking lazy to truly reanimate it. Even if "sales" weren't so good, (only in Japan btw) it did good rating wise all the time. Only thing that held it bad was recycled animation.
it wouldnt have sold well anyway shonens NEVER do well via dvd sales and the merch sales probably wouldn't have done well either and sales outside of japan really dont matter when it comes to anime getting continuations...unless the north american companies had a hand in the production like beyblade, bakugan and ultimate muscle.
Their are Merch sales in Japan too you know? Children would love to by Dragonball merchandise, especially if it didn't get re hashed games. Also, Dragonball was an exception in the shounen DVD sales in it's time, much like One Piece, so ya, it would have done well. Also, i never said North American stuff counts, but the fact of the matter is it still sold. One top of that sales in other places DO matter if it's not only popular in Japan, but all over the world. Thats how things become phenomenons
i know about dbz selling in the past but the times has changed and that still doesnt matter japan still wont make new seasons or remake even if its popular all around the world japan only cares about stuff doing well IN JAPAN not any where else and yes there are merch sales but it flopped too for kai which is what i said already and not everyone loves dragon ball sure it was a hit on tv but when it came to merch and boosting manga sales it didnt do much which is why we dont have a buu arc.
You keep acting like Kai reflects the whole series. If Japan didn't care about worldwide stuff than Dragonball wouldn't have as much stuff as it does right now. Like i said, worldwide sales also make something a phenomenon. Check out the amount of One Piece merchandise that gets produced (which is only popular in Japan) compared to DBZ merchandise that gets produced (worldwide popularity) huge difference. Also, actually yes, it did boost manga sales and sold merchandise quite a bit. Kai, no. (which again, blame TOEI) but DBZ yes
How do you figure that this can work as a sequel? those 26 episodes of Lost Canvas ended out of nowhere, with the saints being utterly defeated. No way of knowing how it ended, but at this point, could be safe to assume that the Saints lost the holy war... Which would have many the end of all life... Which would probably also mean no more holy wars.
Yeah, Kai was wonderful wasn't it? It was actually better than DBZ for the simple fact that they didn't animate that joke of a story arc known as Majin Buu.
Correction: I meant "cover", not "animate". -_-'
heres the plot and characters

Kōga is a 13-year-old boy who assumed the role of the Saint of the Pegasus constellation. His undefeatable spirit and rebellious nature are strong, as is his single-minded determination. Saori Kido (the godess Athena) also appears as the protector of peace and all living things — and the woman who raised Kōga like a parent. Mars kidnaps Athena to establish a new world order, and Kōga stands up against Mars.

characters:

Yuna, the heroine and Bronze Saint of the eagle constellation Aquila
Sōma, Kōga's close friend and Bronze Saint of the lion constellation Leo
Ryūhō, Kōga's younger brother and Bronze Saint of the dragon constellation Draco
Eden, the enigmatic Bronze Saint of the constellation Orion
Haruto, Bronze Saint of the wolf constellation Lupus
In the first episode, Athena sees the sleeping baby Kōga at the Sanctuary where the 12 Constellations can be seen. However, a looming darkness rises, and it topples a pillar right over Kōga. Fortunately, the Gold Saint Seiya appears and saves Kōga from certain death. Then, the malevolent enemy Mars appears, dressed in a cloak.
Hell yeah!! Can't wait to see this one. It's a shame about Lost Canvas though, it doesn't look like it will continue.
Have to finish Lost Canvas manga. Shame they probably won't animate the rest of it.
More Saint Seiya is awesome news but at the same time, it has an awful lot to live up to. I hope it isn't a case of be careful what you wish for.
