Kara no Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners' Takayuki Hirao and ufotable are set to make their next statement in horror anime on February 15th with the Japanese release of an OVA adaptation of the disturbingly absurd manga Gyo.
Based on the horror work of influential genre talent Junji Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki), Gyo is the tale of a young couple visiting the beaches of Okinawa in time to be victims of a land invasion by a plague of scurrying dead fish that attack people both bodily and with their smell.

You have to wonder if the creator of this manga didn't see one of the landshark skits from the older days of SNL.
It's like every Syfy channel water-based critter movie made in the last... god knows since the channels inception, but way better! I'll probably so never watch it though...

The manga for this was so awesome. I really hope this ends up on CR or some kind of American release at some point. I haven't been this excited about an anime in a long time!

Wow... I thought it was gonna be one of those weird things Japan creates, but it's awesome!
Looks good but they forget not every viewer is a 14 year old who wants to pretend to their school friends that they're crazy but in reality watch little girls cartoons.
This would have had the exact same effect without them needing to have overexaggerated reactions from all of the humans, and by the looks of it they turn into zombies too? Either way i looks really good so far but if it's anything like the loli fanservice fest that the last Zombie anime was I'm staying the fuck away.
They did shit like this perfectly in the 80's then everyone in the entire of Japan turned homo.

I think I know which loli fanservice fest anime you're talking about. Luckily, if this anime is faithful to the original manga at all, it will be nothing like that. The manga is really scary and tends to stay away from dumb highschool drama stuff. Also, I hate how overplayed the zombie fad has become in movies and tv, but the way it's handled in this storyline is really unique and refreshing. You should give it a shot!
