Manga Anthology Celebrates Valentine's Day With Bizarre Gelato Tie-In

Unconventional "Morning" manga inspires flavors like "Taste of Eel"

Kodansha's manga anthology Morning has something sweet planned for Valentine's Day. The seinen publication is working with Italian treat makers Babbi to produce six gelato frozen desserts based on manga series like Naoki Urasawa's (Monster, 20th Century Boys) Billy Bat. The flavors developed for the tie-in are as distinctive as the award-winning manga that inspired them.

Chocolate and burning pepper based on Natsumi Eguchi's Hoozuki no Reitetsu

"Taste of eel" flavor based on Hosoki Roswell's U

"Megaton shine" based on Tsuyoshi Nakaima's Rice Shoulder

"Peach Haraguro" based on Miwa Hinaki's Miifa

Green tea macha based on Yoshihiro Yamada's Hyouge Mono

"Golden Cola" based on Naoki Urasawa's Billy Bat
