Aya Hirano Cast in "Gintama" Anime Role

Haruhi cast as Mimawarigumi assassin

The Gintama anime's new adaptation of the "Baragaki Arc" features a couple additions to the alt-history comedy action's already sprawling cast. Veteran voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa (Griffith in the Berserk TV series) is historical samurai Sasaki Isaburo. Meanwhile, delighting many fans, Haruhi Suzumiya herself, Aya Hirano, plays assassin Imai Nobume.


The arc introduces the Mimawarigumi, an elite police force simular to popular Shinsengumi, but composed of higher ranking samurai.

Oh as a Gintama fan I must have missed that meeting since I don't recall declaring whom I wanted play to Nobrume. Thank you for clarifying what most of us apparently wanted.

you're not alone i'm not crazy about her voice either. she was cute as Suzuna in ES21 but sickening in Haruhi and it seems that no one has ever told her that she can't sing... or if they have she didn't care. I've seen the episode so i can comment on what i think but i would rather not spoil it for my fellow free members who gotta wait a week.

Gintama has already had all of my favorite voice actors that I know by name. I have no idea why I haven't made more of an effort to watch the show, being around episode 40... Indeed Aya is a bonus.

Me..I never cared for what Aya Hirano did behind the scenes as long as it wasn't murder or anything really insane. So I never was swayed by the tabloids for their useless scandal stuff. So if she got the job.. Good for her. I'll be waiting to her her voice again and I still will still be watching.
