MADHOUSE studios are known for great anime titles such as Cardcaptor Sakura, Black Lagoon, Redline and the works of legendary directors like Satoshi Kon (Paprika) and Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll).

Now, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the gang from Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip, have joined the studio’s roster of characters in a deal that sounds similar to MADHOUSE’s recent collaboration with Marvel Comics (which has resulted in the X-Men, Iron Man, and Blade anime).

Says a statement on MADHOUSE’s official site:

That sounds kind of vague as for where we can actually see the short, and if it is even out already, but the smart money is to sit and keep hitting refresh on http://snoopy.co.jp/ until further information is forthcoming.

Also, it is unclear if Charlie Brown and the gang will try to uncover the gold of the Shogun of the Dark like in Ninja Scroll, or race around in crazy cars across an alien planet like in Redline, but we sure hope so.
